Committees & Task Forces

The Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce is stronger because of the participation of its members. Volunteer opportunities on committees also provide members with valuable business contacts. If you are a member and are interested in becoming involved in one or more of the following committees, please contact the assigned staff person at (715) 834-1204 or via email. Remember any employee of a Chamber member business or organization may participate in any Chamber committee or event.

AGRI-BUSINESS COMMITTEE
Meets seven times a year on at 7:30 a.m. Committee plans and conducts Breakfast In the Valley in June and supports agricultural programs in the area.

AMBASSADORS
Meets monthly on the fourth Thursday at noon. Ambassadors host Business After Hours, ribbon cutting and ground breaking ceremonies, and solicit ideas and input from existing Chamber members. If your business is a member of the Chamber and you would be interested in becoming an Ambassador, please complete an agreement form.

ANNUAL MEETING COMMITTEE
Meets four or five times a year at 7:30 a.m. Committee plans the Annual Meeting, obtains sponsors, coordinates volunteer awards and helps in set up and decorating.

BUSINESS COUNCIL
Meets bi-monthly a year 7:30 a.m. Committee surveys members to identify program and seminar topics of interest, helps to recruit presenters and plans local seminars.

BUSINESS EXPO COMMITTEE
Meets approximately nine times on the first Thursday of the month at 11 a.m.  Committee plans, organizes and conducts the Business EXPO held annually in October.

BUSINESS SALUTES EAU CLAIRE COMMITTEE (Committee full at the present time)
Meets six times a year on Friday at noon. Committee plans and hosts the annual Business Salutes Eau Claire golf outing in May including securing prizes and sponsors.

DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE
Meets every other month on the first Friday at noon. Works in participation with DECI on future downtown revitalization projects. Hosts Five O'clock on the RiverWalk.

EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION COMMITTEE 
Meets about six times a year on a Thursday at noon. Committee plans annual Excellence In Education Banquet to recognize outstanding students and educators from area high schools.

LEADERSHIP EAU CLAIRE COMMITTEE (Open only to Leadership Eau Claire Alumni)
Program alumni are encouraged to participate in Curriculum and Alumni committees. Curriculum Committee plans the seven program days; Alumni Committee hosts social, networking and educational events for alumni.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Meets monthly on the third Tuesday at noon. Committee members assist the Chamber in the recruitment and retention of members.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Meets monthly on the second Friday at 7:30 a.m. The Committee is actively involved with local, state and federal issues that impact the business community and recommends positions on issues to the Chamber Board. The Committee conducts Egg & Issues, legislative dialogues, Candidate Forums, collaborates in the planning of the Chippewa Valley Rally, and organizes the Campaign Training School.

REAL LIFE ACADEMY
Meets about six times per year to plan and conduct two Real Life Academies in November and April of each year. These financial literacy events are for high school students and are conducted in partnership with the area high schools.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Meets monthly on the first Thursday at 7:30 a.m. Committee works on issues pertinent to the current and future workforce of the Chippewa Valley.  The Committee also conducts Educator Tours, Age of Opportunity Job Fair, Chippewa Valley Wage Survey, business visits and other business/education partnership opportunities.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP EAU CLAIRE
Meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday at noon. Plans the seven leadership program days for juniors in high school.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OF THE CHIPPEWA VALLEY
Meets monthly on the second Thursday at noon. Committee organizes educational and social events for young professionals, ages 21-39. Interested members will be placed on a waiting list and applications are reviewed in February and August. To serve on the committee you must be a YPCV member and it is preferred that you work for a Chamber member business.
