Eau Claire, Wisconsin has a wealth of quality health care available. Residents have access to hospitals, clinics and pharmacies that
provide services to suit everyone’s needs. A variety of alternative medicine such as aromatherapy, holistic medicine, and chiropractic care
can be found in area. Eau Claire has more than 70 dentists in the area specializing in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, sedation dentistry, root canals, pediatric dentistry, oral
surgery and periodontal care.
In 1992, Luther Hospital and Midelfort Clinic merged and became part of the Mayo Health System, based in Rochester, Minnesota. With more growth in sight, there are already 310 hospital beds and almost 3000 employees. There are nearly 160 physicians available in a variety of 40 specialty areas. For those that are unable to come to Eau Claire for
visits, there are affiliates of Luther Midelfort in Barron, Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, Mondovi and Osseo.
Marshfield Clinic Eau Claire Center is a branch of Marshfield Clinic, based in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The physicians and other health care professionals have expertise in 27 specialty areas. There are three other Marshfield Clinic locations in the city of Eau Claire, including the Oakwood Center, Regional Cancer Center, and the Riverview Center.
OakLeaf Surgical Hospital is part of the Oak Leaf Medical Network, a group of 175 independent physicians in 12 counties in western and west-central Wisconsin. The hospital performs inpatient and outpatient elective procedures in orthopedics, ophthalmology, podiatry and others.
In addition to its 344 hospital beds, Sacred Heart Hospital houses several special centers, such as Center for Cancer Research and Prevention, Specialized Neuroscience Center, and Renal Dialysis Center. Construction of a 100,000 square foot expansion was completed in 2004. The new Advanced Center of Surgery includes a digestive
disease center, expanded critical care services and chronic pain program. The new L.E. The Health Education Center at the Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC), completed in 2004, is a partnership between Marquette University School of Dentistry, UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine Clinic, area health care and dental care providers, and CVTC. The medical clinic provides medical care for the residents
and the dental clinic provides care to the low-income and uninsured residents of the Chippewa Valley. Both also act as clinical sites for students
