Approved the Chamber trip to Ireland, October 2-12, 2017
Received an update from the President’s Search Committee. The search firm has completed reviewing the applicants and have started the first round of telephone interviews and will be moving into a second round of personal interviews. There were national and local applications received for the position.
The Board approved the following new policy to be placed in the personnel manual.
New Policy: Use of Electronic Devices
Time spent by non-exempt employees using electronic communications, including email, text and cell phones, for work purposes will be considered hours worked: the time is compensable and will count toward overtime eligibility as required by law. Therefore, electronic communications, for work purposes, should not be used outside regularly scheduled work hours, unless required by the Chamber President. This includes all types of work-related communication.
Non-exempt employees should not check for, read, send or respond to work-related emails, text or calls or voicemails outside their normal work schedules unless authorized, based on job duties or direction, by the Chamber President. All staff would be required to sign that they agree to this policy.
Reviewed the results of the Economic Outlook Survey which is completed every six months.
There will be a Membership Blitz—March Madness, March 13-16. There will be a competition between the Chamber Board of Directors, Young Professionals Executive Committee and the Chamber Ambassadors. If you wish to help out one of the groups, please reach out to them. The winning team will be a surprise announcement at the Chamber Annual Meeting on April 18 along with the person that sold the most memberships during that week.

Approved the audit bid from CliftonLarsonAllen for the next three years. There were four bids received.
Chamber Buy Local Bucks: Sold $355,730 in 2016 as compared to $369,405 in 2015.
Approved a Resolution approving Bob McCoy, as President Emeritus, effective June 3, 2017, following his retirement. Click here for the Resolution.
The Board approved the 2017-2018 Business Plan(the second of the three-year Strategic Plan) and a balanced budget
for 2017-2018 which includes a 3% dues increase. The budget is $1,139,452 of which dues are $553,000.
