The Membership Blitz was held in March and brought in 17 new members. There were three teams: Ambassadors, Chamber Board and Young Professionals Executive Committee. The winning team will be announced at the Annual Meeting.
The new networking event, AM Exchange, will begin April 7 and it will be held quarterly at the sponsoring business location. Members must register to attend and attendance is limited based on the size of the sponsoring member.
A report was given on the upcoming election. There are many uncontested races this year in cities and school boards.
The Board received a report on the Chamber President’s participation on the US Chamber’s committee of 100 on public policy.
The essential Air Service funding is in President Trump’s proposed budget. This would impact 1/3 of all airports in the US, including the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport. The Chamber has reached out to our Congressional delegation, and currently Senator Baldwin and Representative Kind have indicated they will fight to keep the funding. The Chamber has not heard back from Senator Johnson.
