John Sackett, director at Royal Credit Union, was elected by acclamation to the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Board of Ddirectors for a full three-year term. Sackett has served as the District 4, Class C Board member since June 30, 2015 following the retirement of the previous representative. District 4, Class C represents credit unions with over 106,000 Members in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. Sackett is the first volunteer elected to the CUNA Board since the 1996 Renewal Review recommendations changed the election procedures and composition of the Board. His term began following the adjournment of CUNA’s Annual General Meeting in Washington, DC on February 22, 2016 during the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.

Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) will offer a new fully online Professional Communication beginning with the Fall 2016 term. It will be an associate degree program and will offer advanced certificates for technical writing, grant writing and writing for media. CVTC developed the program after receiving feedback from an ad hoc committee that included representatives from business, non-profits, media, K-12 education and marketing professionals. The program will be offered in eight-week segments, with starting dates in August, October, January, March and June.
