Breakfast in the Valley in Eau Claire

Mark your calendars for this annual event, organized by the Agri-Business Committee of the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce, which celebrates the importance of agriculture in our local economy. Held on the second Friday in June at the Eau Claire County Exposition Center, more than 300 Eau Claire Chamber volunteers begin serving breakfast from 5 a.m. -10 a.m. to more than 3,400 people. The menu includes scrambled eggs with ham, cheese, onions and mushrooms, muffins, sliced cheeses, cheese curds, bananas, oranges, coffee, milk and juice. Breakfast isn’t complete without the traditional Breakfast in the Valley dessert of custard, corn flakes and strawberries. Breakfast is served until 10:00 a.m. The 17th Annual Breakfast in the Valley is June 14, 2013.

Other highlights of the breakfast include agricultural displays, business displays, a petting zoo, milk drinking and cow milking contest with local celebrities, tractor displays, recognition of two local farm families, Friend of Agriculture award, Eau Claire County Land Conservation awards and several door prize drawings.

Highlighted Farm Families
New in 2010, the Agri-Business Committee highlighted two farm families at the breakfast. The committee chose two diverse Eau Claire County farms to help attendees learn more about agriculture. The families attended the breakfast to share their stories.
