As the retail center of West Central Wisconsin, people travel from more that 60 miles to purchase everything from clothing to a car.
Oakwood Mallis the largest shopping mall, located on Eau Claire’s south side with more than 100 stores and restaurants, major department stores, a children’s play area and a 12-screen movie theatre. The area is surrounded by strip malls with stores specializing in appliances, bridal wear, jewelry, furniture and sporting goods.
Historic Water Street is where visitors can find unique shops and eateries along the Chippewa River. Only a few blocks away, the downtown area showcases specialty shops, antique and art dealers, and craft and gift shops.
Many other strip malls with a variety of retail stores, restaurants and offices may be found in every area of the city. Several are anchored by large grocery stores.
Eau Claire also has local farmer’s markets that operate in various parts of town during the summer and fall months. The largest market is located in downtown Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park.
