HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine recently received the Center of Distinction award and the Robert A. Warriner III Center of Excellence award for 2018 from Healogics, the nation’s largest wound care management company.
The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine locations in Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire received recognition for outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 95 percent, and a wound healing rate of 94 percent within 30 median days to heal.
“It truly takes a dedicated team of clinical staff and providers working hard each and every day to achieve these exceptional outcomes for the patient population we care for,” said Toni McCutcheon, program director, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.
The hospital’s centers offer highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
Healogics is a national provider of advanced wound care services. HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital’s wound care center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 800 centers, with access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds.
