Registering to vote Click here to check if you are already registered to vote or to update your voter information Registration deadlines for the April 7, 2020 Spring Election: Voters can register in the following ways. All voters must provide a Proof of Residence document when registering to vote March 30: Deadline for online voter registration. (Note: This originally ended on March 18, but was extended to March 30 by court order.) Click here to register on MyVoteWI.gov April 3, 2020 @ 5:00 p.m.- Deadline to Register in Your Municipal Clerk’s Office- Voters may register in-person in their municipal clerk’s office during the clerk’s business hours until 5:00 p.m. on April 3, 2020. April 7, 2020 from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Register to Vote at Your Polling Place- Voters can register to vote at their polling place on Election Day, April 7, 2020. Find your Polling Place here. Requesting an absentee ballot to be mailed All voters in Wisconsin can request an absentee ballot be mailed to them for any reason. Voters must be registered before they can request an absentee ballot. Voters may request their absentee ballot in writing. To request an absentee ballot on MyVote.wi.gov click here. You must provide a photo ID with your absentee ballot request, more information on photo ID can be found here. In-Person Absentee Voting Local municipalities are providing an opportunity to vote early during certain weekday hours between March 16 and April 3. Here are the details: City of Eau Claire: Drive-through Early Voting: Weekdays through Friday, April 3 Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drive-through early voting: City of Eau Claire residents should enter the parking lot behind City Hall from Dewey Street only. There are a series of tents set up and staff who will guide voters through the process. Proper social distancing and cleaning guidelines will be strictly adhered to.
