Royal Credit Union (Royal) also has named Sheila Kohls director of member service. She is responsible for setting strategic plans to deliver an optimal member experience through a variety of channels including the call center and mobile/online banking systems. Kohls will also identify, implement and manage new call center technology and process improvement initiatives for member service. Kohls joined Royal in 2016 as business process improvement manager. She was responsible for providing project management support, while working with team members to improve work processes and allow team members to better serve Royal’s members. Prior to coming to Royal she was the business process improvement manager at IDEXX.
Heather Rigby, outreach & communications coordinator for Valley Media Works, was awarded one of the 2018 Grassroots Scholarships from the Alliance for Community Media. This scholarship will help cover the costs for her to attend the ACM national conference in Baltimore, MD this July. This conference brings together community media professionals from across the country to network, share their knowledge, and learn from industry leaders. This year's theme is “Be More”; attendees will honor the creative spirit of the Charm City while exploring how community media can "can have great impact, change lives, and mean more".
Physician assistant Susan Johnston recently joined the Urology Department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. Johnston earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia. She is a previous Chippewa Valley resident. For the past eight years she provided urologic health care to patients in Ashland, Kentucky. Johnston is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of American Association of Physician Assistants and Urological Association of Physician Assistants.
Jorge Machicado, M.D., recently joined the Gastroenterology Department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. Machicado completed medical school at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Machicado is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

The acquisition adds hydraulic repair with general machining and diesel engine rebuilding, expanding services to all customers. Valley Supply is a hydraulic design, service and repair company. They specialize in hydraulic system design, on site troubleshooting, hydrostatic pumps, valves and cylinder repair. Other services include tubing installation and wet kit installation. They service most manufactures and most industries dealing with fluid power. Along with mobile service, our technician will come to you for your general hydraulic repair, with pickup and delivery options available. Cliff Industrial expanded their machining services in 2017 to include industrial and agriculture diesel engine repairs, by acquiring Automotive Machine Works. Cliff, along with Automotive Machine Works, work together to provide a wide array of machining services to area businesses.
Marco, a leading technology services provider in the United States, announced that it has purchased the copier contracts and client base of Rudzianski’s Business Equipment located in Dubuque, IA. Marco will be providing Rudzianski’s clients service and support from its office in Cedar Rapids, IA. Marco currently has eight offices throughout Iowa. This is Marco’s eighth acquisition in the past two years. They recently purchased Prime Office Innovations and Governor Business Solutions in Michigan. The company has 1,180 employees and serves more than 32,000 customers from its 50 locations throughout the Midwest and nationally.
After less than eight months of planning and preparation, on July 1 the University of Wisconsin-Barron County officially will become a branch campus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Barron County campus, located in Rice Lake, also will officially assume a new name, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County, as it aligns with UW-Eau Claire as part of a UW System-wide restructuring of all the former UW Colleges.
