Dan Schumacher earned his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Relations and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration from Winona State University and earned his Master of Arts, (MA) in Educational Administration from Winona State University. Dan Schumacher has been the athletic director at UW-Eau Claire since 2014.

Prior to working at UW-Eau Claire Mr. Schumacher worked at as the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Director of Intramurals and Recreation at Chicago State University. He was responsible for all athletic executive duties and leadership of a NCAA Division 1 institution located in Chicago, IL. He also began working with the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). He was able to generate financial revenue streams for the department and developed new programs to assist the coaching staff and student athletes.

Mr. Schumacher also worked at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois as the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. During his time at Lewis University, he was able to promote gender equality in collegiate athletics and gain the athletic department more financial support through clubs and organizations.

Mr. Schumacher worked at Winona State University in Winona Minnesota as the Director of Athletic Development/Gift Officer/External Relations, Director of Annual Fund. He was able to generate more athletic department promotion programs which developed new revenue streams for collegiate athletics.

Dan as has experience in the private sector through the Conseco Finance Corporation as an Associate Vice President, Branch Manager at TCF Bank and Mortgage Corp, and as a member of the NCAA committee.

He is excited to share his insight on how student athletes can be great members of a company’s workforce.
