Isn't it too early to be timing about elections? If you are planning to run for office, nope! Offices across Eau Claire County are to appear on the ballot in the Spring. Information below highlights which office positions will be on the ballot, how to register to vote, and information if you are planning to run.

Primary: February 17th, 2026
General: April 7th, 2026

Offices Up for Election in 2026

City of Eau Claire

  • City Council President
  • Elected At-Large every 3rd year
  • Current seat-holder: Emily Berge

City of Altoona

  • 3 Council Persons (districts 4, 5, 6)
  • Elected by district to 3 year terms
  • Current seat-holders: Matthew Biren, Susan Rowe, Susan Zillmer

City of Augusta

  • Mayor
  • Ward 1 Alderperson, Ward 2 Alderperson
  • Elected by district to 2 year terms
  • Current seat-holders: Jason TePaske, Sue Troxell, Lisa Fugett Zabkiewicz

Village of Lake Hallie

  • 2 Trustee Positions
  • Elected to 2 year terms
  • Current seat-holders: Kenneth Greenwood III, Brad Hudson

Village of Fairchild

  • 3 Trustee Positions
  • Elected to 2 year terms
  • Current seat-holders: Casey Aichele Sr, DuWayne Mueller, Nick Johnson

Town of Washington

  • 2 Board Supervisors
  • Elected to 2 year terms

School Boards

Eau Claire School Board

  • 3 Board Seats
  • Elected to 3 year terms

Altoona School Board 

  • 3 Board Seats
  • Two 3 year terms, one 2 year term
  • Current seat-holders: Hillarie Roth, Lauren Otto, Vacancy

Fall Creek School Board

  • 2 Board Seats
  • Elected to 3 year terms

Augusta School Board 

  • 5 Board Seats
  • Elected to 3 year terms
  • Current seat-holders: Gordie O'Brien, Angie Henrich, Kari Kirkham, Kelsey Lee, Bill Perrotti

For Voters

Registering to Vote

  • Online: visit MyVote.WI.gov 
  • By Mail: do so by 5 p.m. on 2nd Friday before the election. The deadline for delivery in person to the clerk’s office is up until the day before the election.
  • Day of: at the polls with acceptable proof of residency. Photo ID is required to vote in Wisconsin.

Deadlines

  • December 1, 2025 - First day to circulate nomination papers
  • January 6, 2026, 5 p.m. - Last day to file Declaration of Candidacy, Nomination Papers, and Campaign Finance registration Statement
